Travel with a local expert and get the unique experience of biking starting from Sabana de la Mar, this tour will take you around to see the beautiful landscape of the countryside of the Dominican Republic. As you ride your bike you will be able to say hi! to the farmers riding their horses or motorbike to their property and during the tour, you will be able to emerge in the adventure and local culture from Sabana de la Mar. This town was founded officially in 1756 by about eleven (11) families that came from the Canary Islands in Spain. When everyone is ready we\u2019ll head to Altos de Cano Hondo and Natural\u00a0 Pools where you\u2019ll start a walking tour to oversee one of the 10 best destinations for ecotourism in the world by\u00a0 Forbes magazine during this adventure you will learn about the unique architecture of this ecolodge.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cano Hondo is a name given by the local farmers of the area and this name comes from the type of geography of the location, this place is below sea level and there are small springs like Jivales and Cano Hondo which are coming from underground river straight from Los Haitises Mountain.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During this part of your trip, you will be visiting Altos de Cano Hondo which is next to Los Haitises National Park one of the largest national p\u00e0rk in the country with more than 1600 km2 and one of the world largest limestone formations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After your walk tour about Altos de Cano Hondo get ready to jump in the natural pools before lunch and after lunch, you’ll head back to Sabana de la Mar. After 4 hours and half hours of activities in Cano Hondo we start riding our mountain bike back to Sabana de la Mar, this excursion ends in the same place as it started.<\/span><\/p>\n
